Human Ubiquitin: Certificate of Analysis The recombinant human ubiquitin is purified from E.coli expressing the human ubiquitin gene. The cells are grown in media where the sole nitrogen source is 15N labeled ammonium sulfate and sole carbon source is 13C glucose and respective amount of 2H. Purification and Analysis The recombinant human ubiquitin is purified by a proprietary non-heat procedure that preserves the native structure of the protein. The purified protein is homogenous when analyzed by overloaded SDS gels. The pools of purified protein solution are extensively dialysed against water and lyophilized. The purified protein is 99.9% pure according to amino acid composition analysis. Storage Stable at 4°C. 2mM (17mg/ml) solution of the ubiquitin is also stable for several months to years at 4°C. The protein solution can be sterilized by filtering through a 0.2µM filter. However, one has to ensure that they use a small sized filter so as to not lose sample volume. If the protein solution is kept sterile, it is stable for several months, even at room temperature. Conditions The product described here is for research use only and should not be administered to humans or used for any drug purpose. This product is without warranty other than information specifically provided in this sheet. No other warranty is expressed or implied.
